avoiding christmania

Avoiding the manic town centre shopping scenerio, that inevitably ends up with you convinced that people have been sharpening their elbows before they go out, is mostly what I've been doing this week, and apart from one little trip carefully timed to coincide with as few others as possible, i.e. monday morning, I've got away with it completely!
Combining some crafty online shopping and homemade pressies... no problem.
Paper making and binding was fun this week too..... combined with some photo corners they turned out to be great gifts...

flubble....

In our house this week we have been mostly walking around in a flubble. That is to say, a flu-bubble. I'd forgotton quite how being ill can make life stop for a week.
Right then. Back to it.

hedgear

I completed another scoob today. It's a half scarf, half tube, creation that is for those (like me) who hate having scarf ends whipping round their head, or half a mile of woolliness stuffed down your jumper. And you can wear it on your head. Woo. There's a nice fade effect from plum to charcoal in this wool.

my new shoooes...

After a weekend of ranting at the provider, I had to chuckle at Mr Murphy. I got my first online sale for my craftiness, in the middle of having no internet access for 4 days. Hehe- 'tis the law of the sod. Luckily a good friend lent me some access yesterday and all is well.

I made these shoes a while ago and am planning on making some more soon. The upper is recycled denim jeans, the insole part is 4 layers of recyled cardboard, and a rubber mat sole.
I'm on a quest to find a better material to use for a sole first though, as these use discarded car foot-well mats - unfortunately this has made them a little heavy...
any suggestions?

hello world...

Well I've gone and done it now haven't I? Signed up for my own blog so i've got something else that i probably won't achieve keeping up to date!

Today I have been swirling my head around to the marvellous Regina Spektor, whilst re-arranging furniture in an autumn nesting type way.
I'm off now to attempt to light a fire, and hope the damp logs can be persuaded.
This is my latest peice of craftiness... a 2009 knit-covered diary, which I can tell the mother has her eye on.

ooo

getting there...
